Barrington High students lauded for spreading kindness and acceptance

Hoffman Estates-based GiGi's Playhouse Inc. has presented a national award to two Barrington High School students who have worked to spread kindness and acceptance throughout the school population.

Recipients Bella Gianni and Francesca Giancola started the first #GenerationG Club in 2017 and have inspired other high schools around the country. What they started propelled GiGi's Playhouse to create curriculum - including meeting formats and templates - to best spread acceptance of entire student populations. These tools will help other schools interested in starting a #GenerationG Club.

Barrington High's #GenerationG Club also prompted acceptance initiatives across the country to include student acceptance essay programs, #GenerationG School of the Year Awards and more.

GiGi's Playhouses are e achievement centers for people with Down syndrome.
