Wis. cop charged with pointing gun at another cop

CALEDONIA, Wis. — A Caledonia police officer is on paid administrative leave after being charged with pointing his gun at another officer.

The Racine County District Attorney's office on Wednesday charged 37-year-old Curtis Schollmeier with pointing a firearm at another — a misdemeanor.

According to the complaint, Schollmeier got upset with other officers teasing him and pulled his gun on one of them on Nov. 22, 2008.

The Journal Times reports the alleged incident happened as Schollmeier and other officers punched out. One officer told an investigator Schollmeier drew his weapon and pointed it at the back of another officer. When confronted about allegedly pointing the gun, Schollmeier put the gun back into his holster, got into his car and left.

Schollmeier's attorney says his client intends to plea not guilty next Tuesday.
