Early voting offered to Kane County residents

Early voting for the 2010 General Primary runs until Jan. 28.

College students who are home for the winter break may take advantage of the 16 early voting sites available to residents of Kane County. The sites, along with the hours they will be open, are listed on the Kane County Clerk's Web site, www.kanecountyelections.org, or call (630) 232-5990 for election information.

In person absentee voting will be available from 8:40 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 19 and Feb. 1 at the Kane County Clerk's office, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building B, Geneva. The new state law specifies that a voter does not need an excuse to vote absentee.

Feb. 2 is the General Primary Election Day. The polls for Kane County registered voters will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Election results will be available on the Kane County Clerk's Web site as soon as possible after the closing of the polls.
