Hartstein knows impact of state laws

I am writing this letter in support of Elliott Hartstein's candidacy for the 59th District State Representative seat. I personally support Mr. Hartstein in the Democratic primary Feb. 2 because I have had the pleasure of working with him for the last five years on various projects that impact Northern Illinois.

Mr. Hartstein has been active in shaping and executing on the regional plan developed by CMAP and has an excellent grasp of the challenges facing our area and the impact of Springfield decisions on municipal, township and local government. Mr. Hartstein, as mayor of Buffalo Grove, has experienced firsthand the negative effects of Springfield decisions on local government through unfunded mandates, reduced revenue-sharing and constant expansion of pension plans that are funded locally and not by the State.

Mr. Hartstein will carefully think through the downstream effects of decisions he makes at the state level. He has proved himself conscientious, diligent in considering all sides of an issue and will always put his constituents' interests first. Please vote for Elliott Hartstein to be the democratic nominee for the 59th District this Feb. 2.
