Ill. offers sessions on growing food businesses

SPRINGFIELD — Business people who are trying to expand their Illinois food-based businesses may attend a daylong conference featuring experts to answer questions.

The Nov. 1 event is in Rosemont.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Marketing and Promotions and the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA are hosting the event. They've invited a diverse group of speakers to offer insight on strengthening and expanding a business.

The morning session will focus on "Marketing and Growing Your Business." It will be from 9 a.m. to noon and include discussions of websites and social media strategies.

The "Why to Export" seminar in the afternoon will feature five sessions on the whys and hows of exporting.
