Lions’ Candy Days in Barrington Sept. 28, 29
Members of the Barrington Lions Club will take to the streets in the village of Barrington on Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29, to raise funds as part of the Lions Club’s annual Candy Day fundraising event.
Funds donated by community members will be used to benefit local and national initiatives designed to support the hearing and visually impaired. This year, donations made during Candy Day will also benefit Camp Lions, a youth camp for children with sight and sound special needs.
According to Lion Nick Sauer, chairman of the Barrington Lions Club’s Candy Day event, “Money raised on Sept. 28 and 29 will allow Lions to meet pressing needs in the community, including vision and hearing screenings for the underresourced and opportunities for youth with special needs to attend a memorable summer camp. Lions members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference in the community.”
The Barrington Lions Club has over 50 members and meets the first and third Mondays of the month at 6 p.m. at Chessie’s 111 Grille. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
