Loyola fades down stretch against Cleveland St.

Norris Cole scored 20 points, and Jeremy Montgomery hit 4 free throws in the final 27 seconds to lift host Cleveland State to a 62-57 victory over Loyola on Thursday night.

Cole, who led Cleveland State (6-10, 2-2 Horizon League) with 20 points, and Montgomery combined to hit six of the Vikings' nine 3-pointers in a game that featured five ties and 10 lead changes.

Walt Gibler and Terrance Hill led the Ramblers (11-4, 2-4) with 13 points each. Aric Van Weelden added 11 points.

Youngstown St. 76, UIC 67: Vytas Sulskis scored 17 points to lead host Youngstown State past Illinois-Chicago. DeAndre Mays added 15 points and Sirlester Martin chipped in 12 for the Penguins (6-8, 1-4 Horizon League).

Jeremy Buttell scored 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Flames (5-10, 1-4).

Robo Kreps, who was averaging 18 points in the Flames' last eight games, finished with 13.

Michigan 65, Penn St. 55: Laval Lucas-Perry keyed a second-half spurt with four 3-pointers, and DeShawn Sims had a game-high 25 points as Michigan (8-6, 2-1 Big Ten) erased a 16-point deficit to defeat host Penn State. The comeback silenced a Jordan Center crowd that had watched Penn State (8-7, 0-3) build a 31-16 halftime lead.
