Yes for Prospect Heights roads

Prospect Heights officials want permission to sell $15 million in bonds to rebuild badly deteriorated streets.

The city's government is revenue-starved, so the streets are only going to continue to deteriorate without the money.

The city's residents regularly turn down every proposal to give the city more taxing power, understandably so in this economy. But streets are a basic city service, not a luxury; a YES vote is an investment that maintains property values.
