Grants aid creativity:

Thirty Libertyville Elementary District 70 teachers have been awarded a total of $6,250 in grants from the Partners for Excellence in Education program to enhance classroom programs. Seventeen grants were awarded to progressive teachers in five schools for activities such as improving writing and reading skills, buying books to help parents when their children have school problems and introducing a new schoolwide system to improve student behavior. Partners for Excellence in Education is a group of local business representatives who offer their time and financial donations to District 70. Nearly $100,000 has been awarded during the past 16 years. Individual grants this year ranged from $61 to $500.
