Spelling bee launches Catholic Schools Week at Hoffman school
Saint Hubert Catholic School in Hoffman Estates got an early start on its celebration of Catholic Schools Week, Sunday, Jan. 31, through Saturday, Feb. 6, with a spelling bee held last Wednesday.
The week focuses on Catholic schools' commitment to infuse students with the faith, knowledge, morals, and discipline that will help them lead fulfilling lives.
Activities at the school this week include cultural arts performances today, collections of money for a service project, and creating thank you cards for key groups that support or work at the school.
Tuesday is make a difference day, which will include a student essay read at Mass and a pep rall at 1 p.m.
