Slaughter loses close game in Alaska

The Chicago Slaughter saw its record slip to 5-3 on the season with a 40-35 loss to the Fairbanks Grizzlies.

The hosts from Alaska won their fifth straight game in the Indoor Football League battle.

Slaughter quarterback Ben Sankey completed 23 of 44 passes for 224 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 interception. Slaughter WR Shatone Powers had 5 receptions for 101 yards with 1 TD.

Chicago returns home to Sears Centre Arena on Friday to play host to the rival Green Bay Blizzard.
