NAMI to hold pizza dinner Oct. 3 in Buffalo Grove

You are invited to National Alliance on Mental Illness Northwest Suburban’s annual Lou Malnati’s Pizza dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in commemoration of Mental Illness Awareness Week. It will take place at 85 S. Buffalo Grove Road, corner of Buffalo Grove and Lake-Cook roads, in Buffalo Grove.

The dinner features all-you-can-eat Lou Malnati’s pizza, pasta, salad and beverage in addition to dessert. Dinner tickets may be purchased at the door for $25 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 11. There will be a multitude of door prizes and raffle prizes donated by generous community businesses. Raffle tickets may be purchased on the night of the event for $1 each or $10 for a dozen.

The NAMI affiliate works to promote awareness of the need to address openly the topic of mental illness. This annual dinner is held to raise funds that will help provide community education on mental illness and support for families who have a loved one struggling with a no-fault biological brain disorder.

NAMI Signature programs such as Family Support (open to any adult family member who has a loved one experiencing mental illness) and Connection Recovery (open to adults coping with their own mental health disorders) are free to the public.
