Submitted by Allegiance Color Guard

Macy’s will partner with Allegiance Color Guard to invite customers to participate in Macy’s seventh annual “Shop for a Cause” charity shopping event.

The 2012 event will take place Saturday, Aug. 25. Customers can purchase tickets now from Allegiance Color Guard.

“Giving back is a cornerstone of Macy’s culture, and through our annual Shop For A Cause program Macy’s has been able to raise more than $42 million for local and national charities that are meaningful for our customers and associates,” said Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer.

“We are proud to offer our customers a simple way to make a positive difference in their communities while enjoying great savings at Macy’s. Our customers’ ongoing support is an inspiration, and we hope to continue making an impact for years to come.”

Macy’s has provided Allegiance Color Guard with shopping passes to sell for $5 each. The organization will keep 100 percent of every ticket it sells so that it can purchase needed items, including new costumes and flags. The more tickets sold by Allegiance Color Guard, the more money it will raise.

By purchasing a shopping pass to the event from Allegiance Color Guard, customers support their local youth while enjoying a day of discounts, entertainment and special events. Pass holders will enjoy special discounts on most regular, sale and clearance purchases all day. (Some exclusions apply.)

“I think this is a wonderful opportunity from our friends at Macy’s,” said Eric Hall, Allegiance Color Guard’s founder and director. “It’s a win-win event to help support a growing youth performing arts activity in our community while helping to stimulate the economy in West Dundee.”

The shopping passes can be purchased directly through Allegiance Color Guard between now and Aug. 25 by calling (847) 409-4182 or by sending an email to director@allegianceyouth.org.
