Hoffman Estates girl to compete in national pageant

Sahana Ramesh, 6, of Hoffman Estates was chosen as a state finalist in the 2012 National American Miss Illinois Pageant to be held Sept. 2 and 3, at Pheasant Run Resort, in St. Charles.

The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Ramesh will be participating in the 4-6 age division, along with other young ladies from across the state of Illinois.

The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California.

Ramesh’s activities include ice skating, tennis, piano, ballet, roller blading, Kumon, learning Chinese and reading and writing stories.
