Barrington Area Home Schoolers hold toy sale for Haitian children

The Barrington Area Home Schoolers group will host its 7th Annual Kids Toy Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 16th and Friday, June 17th, at 4611 Burman Drive in Crystal Lake.

Since 2004, the sale has generated more than $10,000 to feed students at the Mayaya School in Haiti through Hoffman Estates-based Bright Hope.

Last year, the Kids Toy Sale raised enough money to feed and educate children for an entire year at Mayaya. For every $102 raised, one student will receive food for a year.

Tax-deductible donations such as gently-used toys, books, clothing, and other children’s items may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 13 to 15 at 4611 Burman Drive in Crystal Lake. Call Sherry Bennett at (815) 444-8183 for questions about dropping off toys.
