Aurora police seek man for attempted murder
Aurora Police are asking for the public's help finding a 27-year-old man wanted for attempted murder.
Jeremias C. Woodland, whose last known address is on the 400 block of North River Street, Aurora, is charged with two counts each of attempted murder and armed violence, plus four counts of aggravated battery in connection with the stabbing of two people in the early morning hours of Sept. 30.
Police reports said the victims, a 23-year-old woman and 20-year-old man, both from Aurora, were partying with Woodland and several others inside an apartment.
Police said the three became involved in a physical confrontation at 12:40 a.m. that ended when Woodland stabbed the other two. Both victims were treated at an Aurora hospital.
Woodland returned to his apartment on the 400 block of North River Street following the incident, and was last seen fleeing on foot after jumping out of his second-story window, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said. Woodland is a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 146 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
