Registration open for Hoffman Estates police explorer program

The Hoffman Estates Police Department is recruiting for new police explorer cadets. A police explorer is between 14 and 20 years old, maintains a good GPA in school, is willing to volunteer at police explorer events and exemplifies the highest standards of the Hoffman Estates Police Department. They wear uniforms, participate in local events, help the public, and compete in local, regional and national competitions. Police explorers also run the junior police academy each year, which mentors 5th, 6th and 7th graders in Hoffman Estates. Interested youths can pick up applications at the police department, 411 W.
