Maine West breaks into win column

Maine West wasted no time making sure there would be no repeat of last year’s winless finish.

The Warriors scored 43 first-quarter points and cruised to a 57-20 nonconference victory over Urban Prep/Bronzeville on Friday night in Des Plaines.

John Manicke rushed for 2 touchdowns and Matt Swanson, Matt Romano, Raul Anaya and Joe Marella had touchdowns. Romano had an interception and Danny Cardamone recovered 2 fumbles.
