Ramon Marin notched a pair of goals, and Lucas Istvanek scored the game-winner off an assist from Joey Savino, as Lakes’ boys soccer team pulled out a 4-3 win over visiting Waukegan in a nonconference match that went back and forth Tuesday.
It was the fifth win a row for the Eagles (5-1), who had never beaten Waukegan.
Martin Gerrits scored for Lakes as well, heading in a Marin pass to pull the Eagles even at 2-2 at halftime. Trevor Ray also had an assist for the Eagles. Marin tallied the Eagles’ first goal after Caleb Arnwine was tripped in the box.
Warren 2, Prospect 0: Daniel Szczepanek and Rafa Macias scored in the opening half for the Blue Devils, who improved to 5-0 with the nonconference win.
Nick Hathuc made 5 saves in earning the clean sheet. Tony Severini had an assist.
Libertyville 4, Jacobs 2: Lloyd Chatfield’s second goal of the night snapped a 2-2 tie in the second half, as the host Wildcats won their season opener.
Chatfield and Austin Bitta scored in the first half for Libertyville. Nick Vogel netted the final goal for the winners. Bitta added 2 assists, while Chatfield and Tomide Owolabi also set up goals.
