Kirk Players receives grant
The Kirk Players announced that its Children’s Summer Workshop program was awarded a $2,000 grant from Target Corporation. The grant will provide support for the costs of the children’s workshop programs, which is offered free to children, ages 5 to 12 in the community. The Kirk Players is a not-for-profit corporation of volunteers organized as a “Community Stock Company” and formed to be a service to the community. The organization donates its time, talents and energies to provide a place for those who enjoy working in community theatre, offers entertaining and challenging theatre, and helps provide funds to support education and performing arts programs. “We are thrilled that Target has chosen this program to support. In our 46-year history we have provided a free, seven week theatre workshop to over 4,000 children in our community,” said Sheila Bourque, Kirk Players president.
