Illinois utility commission gets new director
SPRINGFIELD — The commission that regulates power companies and other Illinois utilities is getting a new executive director.
Jonathan Feipel starts his job at the Illinois Commerce Commission on Wednesday.
This is a return to the commission for Feipel. He worked there in the Telecommunications Division for seven years. Then he moved to the state commerce department, where he oversaw the Illinois Energy Office.
The chairman of the Commerce Commission says Feipel has the experience to work well with lawmakers, the public and other regulatory agencies.
The 37-year-old Springfield resident will be directing a staff of about 250 people in three offices.
