Band director arrested for seduction of 2 girls

MADISON, Ind. — A southeastern Indiana high school band teacher has been charged with child seduction involving two teenage girls.

Police in Madison arrested 25-year-old Jacob Blanton of Scottsburg on Wednesday after receiving reports he had inappropriate contact with two girls who were ages 14 and 16 when the activity began. He’s being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail in Madison and is charged with one could of sexual misconduct with a minor and two counts of child seduction. It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.

Madison Police Chief Yancy Denning says Blanton was assistant band director at Madison Consolidated High School and has been placed on administrative leave there. However, it’s not clear where the two victims were students. Yenning says Blanton operated a band program involving students from several different schools.
