Economy and national security on Obama's schedule
WASHINGTON — The economy, politics and national security are all on President Barack Obama's White House work list as the new week gets under way.
Obama meets Monday with senior advisers in the morning and with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton later in the day.
He also has a visit from a bipartisan group of mayors who will brief Obama on steps they've taken to create jobs and spur economic growth.
It isn't clear whether Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel, Obama's former White House chief of staff, will be present.
In the evening, Obama is set to give talks at two Democratic Party fund-raising events.
