Libertyville Jr. Women's Club to host kid sitting event May 6
Libertyville Junior Woman's Club announces Parents' and Kids' Night Out from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 6 at the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St. LJWC members along with teen assistants will entertain the kids with games, crafts and movies for the evening, enabling parents to spend the evening out. There is a nominal charge of $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child, and only potty trained children will be accepted. Space is limited, so reservations are required. The Libertyville Junior Woman's Club has been serving the community for over 50 years. As a member of the Civic Center Foundation, the club is integral in the operation of the Libertyville Days annual celebration. In addition, the club is responsible for delivery of countless meals for the Meals on Wheels program.
Other projects include presenting the Home Alone program to local grade schools, donating of school supplies to students, supplying families in need with holiday gifts, as well as other worthwhile projects assisting both local and global beneficiaries.
The Libertyville Junior Woman's Club is affiliated with the General Foundation of Women's Clubs, the largest volunteer organization of women in the world.
The club meets monthly from September through June, and membership is open to all women interested in sharing their talents and time to improve our community through volunteerism and philanthropic endeavors.
