Trial begins in Williamson County shooting death

MARION — A southern Illinois murder trial is under way for a man accused in another man's shooting death.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports that jury selection began Tuesday in Williamson County in the trial of 31-year-old Marcus Marshall of Creal Springs.

Marshall is accused of fatally shooting LaQuinn Hudson in August of last year at the victim's home in Marion. Hudson later died on arrival at a hospital.

Marshall was arrested in Chicago three days after the shooting. He's pleaded not guilty.
