Drowning victim identified

A 44-year-old woman who drowned in Lake Michigan on Sunday was identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Victoria Kut, of the 1200 block of Windwood Drive in Lake Forest. Kut’s husband reported her missing to police about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. Divers from 20 area departments searched Lake Michigan before the U.S. Coast Guard was called in to assist. A Coast Guard helicopter spotted Kut’s body about 10:15 a.m. about two miles east of Forest Park Beach.
