Chicago police officer shot in legs
A Chicago police officer is recovering after being shot in both legs.
Authorities say the 38-year-old officer was off duty and sitting on the back porch of his home with another officer when the shooting happened early Friday. Police say he heard several shots and felt pain in both legs.
The officer was taken from his home on the city’s South Side to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He’s expected to make a full recovery.
Police are investigating the incident. Officials say it isn’t clear if the officers were the intended target of the shooting. The wounded officer has been on the police force for 10 years.
