Barrington Brew Fest offers best of the brews

Regional craft breweries will pour at the ninth annual Barrington Brew Fest, from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 7. Enjoy live music, tasty food and a bean bag tournament while sampling the best of the brews.

The event will be held in the Fourth of July tent, by the Metra station, in downtown Barrington. More than 40 craft brewers from the Midwest as well as from other parts of the country are expected. Food vendors will include McGonigal’s Pub, Cooper’s of Barrington, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Gilbert’s Craft Sausages. Music will be provided by Second Time Around. The festival will also feature a bean bag tournament and a 50/50 raffle.

All proceeds will benefit the Barrington Area Council on Aging. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 on the day of the event. The ticket price includes a commemorative glass and brew tastings. The first 750 attendees at the gate will also receive a free commemorative T-shirt.

Primary sponsor for the event is McGonigal’s Pub; secondary sponsors include Barrington Bank & Trust and Barrington Print & Copy.
