The annual Tuna Kahuna, a free fishing contest, will be held at a new location this year, Blackhawk Park, on Saturday, June 9.
The South Elgin Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the FUNdation, will host the annual contest from 9 to 11 a.m. at Blackhawk Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
The event is open to children 15 years and younger. Prizes are awarded for the largest fish in length of multiple species. Volunteer staff will help kids land their fish. All participants must be accompanied by an adult and have their own fishing equipment and bait.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event and a DJ will be spinning your favorite tunes.
