4 men in custody after shots fired in Aurora Township
No one apparently was hit after gunshots were fired from a car Thursday night in Aurora Township, the Kane County sheriff’s office said Friday.
Lt. Chris Collins said “multiple shots” fired about 7:35 p.m. from a vehicle near Fifth Avenue and Loucks Street.
“We don’t know that anyone was struck by the gunfire,” Collins said.
Aurora police stopped the vehicle and took four occupants, all men between 20 and 25 years old from Aurora or nearby areas, into custody. Police also recovered a handgun.
The sheriff’s office would not release names of the men in the vehicle or information about their intended victims Friday morning as the investigation into the shooting continues. Charges against the men in the vehicle could be authorized as soon as Friday afternoon, Collins said.
