Take government back from the rich

Thank you, Mr. Anthony Nelson, for your June 16 letter supporting and applauding the efforts of all progressives working to wrestle our government back from the rich, powerful interests who have bought it.

Unless U.S. citizens wake up and ignore the carpet bombing media ads being bought by the likes of Rive, Koch and their ilk for unleashing this fall, we will descend back into the George W. Bush era of economic ruin, war and illogical, destructive Supreme Court conservatives legislating from the bench.

As Frenchman Frederic Bastiat (economist and writer, 1850) once said, “When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living in society, they create for themselves, in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”
