4 Walgreens stores to offer free HIV testing days

Four Walgreens stores in Chicago will offer free rapid HIV testing later this month.

The Chicago Department of Public Health announced the program Wednesday. The department is cooperating with Beyond Care, Test Positive Awareness Network and Brothers Health Collective to provide the tests.

The testing will be conducted June 27-29 from 3 to 7 p.m. Testing takes 20 to 40 minutes to give and process. Local AIDS service organizations will deliver results.

The following Chicago Walgreens store locations are participating: 11 E. 75th St.; 4720 N. Marine Drive; 5440 N. Clark St.; and 3401 W. Roosevelt Road.

Nationally, 47 Walgreens stores in 20 markets are participating in the National HIV Testing Day activity. It’s the second straight year Walgreens has worked with the Greater Than AIDS coalition on the project.
