Thanks for support of Itasca depot

I am writing as a follow-up to your Aug. 9 article, 138 years later, depot needs TLC. The fundraising event took place on Aug. 25. The community responded with more than 170 people attending the luncheon to celebrate the depot museum project and honor Jerry Danzer, Professor Emeritus UIC, who is unofficially known as the town “historian.” Businesses and residents have contributed over $68,000, so far. We are very close to our goal of raising $75,000.

In these times, the importance of history for us and our children cannot be underestimated. The overwhelming support that has been demonstrated for the restoration of the Itasca Milwaukee Road Depot Historical Museum is truly a success story for the business and residential community of Itasca and for all those who will visit the museum in the future. A big thank you to all.
