Foster lauded for health care act

Because I have worked with people older than 60 for many years, I have witnessed the crisis of no access to insurance before age 65 for those who have lost coverage and cannot get it back. The devastation of not being able to afford medical care or having been treated and facing insurmountable medical bills ruins many lives.

So, for me the choice for U.S. Congress always has been connected to thinking through the needs of all of the citizens. Although the new health insurance plan is frightening to many, I am relieved that we finally can share in the costs and protect all of our citizens. Like the start of Social Security and of Medicare, this new effort is a challenge to the thinking of many fearing higher costs. With the benefits of the new health care act, we are a safer, kinder, more protected citizenry.

I applaud Bill Foster for the courage to support this upcoming change. Already our seniors on Medicare D plans are benefiting. Already Medicare is changed to cover well being physicals and care. Many others will be protected in the coming four years.
