Waukegan man murdered in Zion parking lot

A Waukegan man was shot dead in a parking lot outside a Zion business Tuesday night, according to authorities.

Police found Pablo Robles, 52, suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot on the 1700 block of Lewis Avenue Tuesday night.

Paramedics transported Robles to Vista East hospital in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is working with the Zion police in their investigation. Police said the murder appears to be an isolated incident.

Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey said an autopsy indicated Robles died of a single gunshot wound, but Yancey would not indicate where the man was shot due to the pending investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call Zion police at (847) 872-8000.
