Des Plaines River Trail Bike Ride a success

The Des Plaines River Trail Bike Ride, hosted by Mayor Martin J. Moylan and the Des Plaines Police Department June 2 was a great success with more than 300 bicyclists coming out to enjoy the day.

Children and adults enjoyed the event, which ended with a cookout and prize drawings at the Public Works Garage, 1111 Joseph J. Schwab (Campground) Road.

Special thanks were expressed to this year’s sponsors and participants, including Fifth Third Bank, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, the Journal and Topics Newspapers, the Des Plaines Park District, Holy Family Medical Center, Karas Management, Alexian Reference Laboratory, WJMK-FM /104.3 K-HITS, Village Cycle Sport, Berg Toys Chicago LLC, and Chiro One.

Mayor Moylan thanked the many volunteers who made the event possible, including the Citizens On Patrol and the Emergency Management Agency.
