Tryouts for new Hoffman Estates soccer team

Chicago's new Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) franchise has announced dates for official team tryouts.

The first will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 at Grand Sports Arena, 2350 Hassell Road. Players selected then will join the team to participate in a friendly match against the MISL defending champions, the Milwaukee Wave, on Wednesday, July 18 in Milwaukee.

The second tryout will take place on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 at Grand Sports Arena to determine the core roster.

The yet-to-be-named team's first season will begin on November 11. The home opener will take place on November 18 at the Sears Centre Arena. Individuals interested in registering for tryouts should call (224) 698-9086.
