Elgin History Museum discusses breweriana

The Elgin History Museum, 360 Park St., will hold a program on “Collecting Breweriana” at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3. Admission is $3 or free for museum members.

Breweriana is the colorful and fascinating field of collecting beer-related items. Longtime collector Carl Flaks will discuss the wide range of beer-related collectibles and display many items from his personal collection. Refreshments include samples of a variety of craft beers.

The Elgin History Museum has two floors of exhibits relating to the development of Elgin, including the Elgin National Watch Company and other industries, Elgin architecture and the museum’s newest exhibit on Elgin in the 20th century.

The museum is open noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students, and free for museum members. For information, visit www.elginhistory.org or call the museum at (847) 742-4248.
