Village working hard on blighted site

I would like to commend the village of Arlington Heights trustees for their long, complicated and difficult efforts to find a contractor to build on the long-blighted International Plaza site. I watched the discussion on public access TV, and I know that many of our residents are concerned about getting affordable housing on the site. Our village has grown and prospered under good governance, and we are lucky to have knowledgeable and caring trustees guiding that growth.

Suggesting, as some citizens. did, that we find another contractor is simplistic; the site has been an eyesore for many years, and if finding a contractor would be easy, it would have been undertaken years ago. I suggest that we take our trustees at their word. They are working hard, with good hearts, to get affordable housing on the International Plaza site.
