Grand Avenue underpass work:

Construction of an underpass on Grand Avenue, just west of Route 45 in Lindenhurst, begins July 9. The work is part of Millennium Trail extension through Fourth Lake Forest Preserve. Completion is expected in summer 2013. Grand Avenue will remain open during construction, though periodic traffic delays are expected. The underpass is being installed to provide trail users safe passage at Grand Avenue and access from Fourth Lake to Bonner Heritage Farm and McDonald Woods. During construction, the section of Fourth Lake and Millennium Trail between Rollins Road and Grand Avenue will be closed to public access and will open when all work on the underpass is complete. The section of Fourth Lake and Millennium Trail north of Grand Avenue will remain open with parking available at the Lake County Forest Preserve Operations and Public Safety Facility on Grand Avenue in Lindenhurst.
