Grayslake North students do well at business conference

Future Business Leaders of America members from Grayslake North High School recently attended the 63rd Illinois Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference in Decatur, with more than 1,300 members, advisers and guests from 70 Illinois FBLA chapters attend.

Grayslake North members were involved in conference sessions promoting personal development, business and leadership training, as well as the election of 2012-13 state officers. Having studied for competitive events that explore specific aspects of the business world, the students participated in written tests and performance events as well.

During the awards program at the conference, Grayslake North High School FBLA members won the following competitive events: Bridget O'Gorman placed first in Health Care Administration, qualifying her for Nationals in San Antonio, Texas; Chris Lewitzke placed fourth in Impromptu speaking; Tom Belau, Michael Suarez and Yousef Ghazal placed fourth as an Entrepreneurship team; Kate Dean placed fifth in Sports Management; Jennifer Kilma placed seventh in Economics; and Nathalia Moran placed 10th in Public Speaking II. Other FBLA members in attendance were Kristian Robles, Hannah Collins, and Kelly Fiedler.
