Lombard Fire responds to garage fire, no injuries reported

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Lombard Fire Department responded to an early morning garage fire yesterday, located in the 400 block of west Windsor.

According to Lombard's Interim Fire Chief, Jerry Howell, the detached garage was destroyed by the fire, which extended to the home, causing extensive damage to the single story ranch structure as well. Damage to the garage, home and contents is estimated at approximately $75,000.

The origin of the fire appears to stem from the garage and is currently under investigation by Lombard's Fire Investigation Unit, according to Howell. No injuries were reported.

The Lombard Fire Department was assisted by mutual aid departments York Center, Villa Park and Oakbrook.
