Man injured at Caterpillar in serious condition

EAST PEORIA, Ill. — One of two men injured in an electrical accident at a Caterpillar facility in East Peoria is in serious condition with burns.

A spokesman for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria tells The Pekin Daily Times that 39-year-old Robert Klimko came to the hospital with burns to an arm, a leg and his abdomen after the Monday accident. Klimko was then moved to a Rockford hospital.

Mike Everett of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers says Klimko and 34-year-old Scott Albritton were injured while working for another company at the Caterpillar factory. Albritton was treated at the Peoria hospital and released.

Everett says he hasn’t been told how the two were injured.

Caterpillar hasn’t released details but says in a statement that it will work with investigating authorities.
