Fire damages deck of a Des Plaines home

A fire damaged the deck of a home in the 1000 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Des Plaines but caused no damage to the home itself, Des Plaines Fire Department officials said.

Neighbors noticed the fire and reported it about 10:45 p.m. Friday.

No one was home at the time, officials said. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
