Well-known Detroit-area hotel to get new name

DEARBORN, Mich. — A well-known Detroit-area hotel is expected to get a new name.

WDIV-TV and The Detroit News report Monday that the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn will no longer be operated under the Hyatt name starting at a future date.

Royal Realties LLC bought the 14-story, 773-room hotel last year. At the time, Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corp. agreed to continue to manage the hotel.

Royal Realties and Hyatt say they’re working for a “smooth transition.”
