Driver killed in Elk Grove Village crash

Elk Grove Village police are investigating a crash that killed a driver on Busse Road in a construction zone Monday afternoon.

Police said a driver headed south on Busse Road struck a parked construction vehicle in the area of Estes Avenue at about 2:16 p.m.

The male driver in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Cook County medical examiner's office spokesman.

The crash occurred in a posted work zone, according to police.

The man's identity was being withheld late Monday as officials attempted to contact his family.
