Fulton man charged with soliciting a Naperville child

A 26-year-old man from downstate Fulton has been charged with attempting to solicit a child for sex.

Brian Dyke was arrested at work in Fulton, near Clinton Ia., Tuesday night.

He was charged by DuPage County prosecutors with two counts of child pornography, two counts of grooming and one count of solicitation to meet a child for an unlawful purpose. Dyke also is accused of soliciting two children to appear in pornography.

Prosecutors said Dyke contacted the girls by cellphone between February and April. One victim was asked to meet Dyke at a location without her parents’ knowledge, according to court records.

Dyke appears to have no prior criminal history in DuPage. He remains in the county jail on $350,000 bail and is scheduled to appear June 7 before Judge Daniel Guerin.

Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Dyke met one of the girls on an unknown gaming website and the two became friends.

Bell added that Dyke was “sexting” lewd pictures of himself to the child, and the mother of the girl contacted police when text messages and pictures were discovered.

Dyke’s posessions were investigated and 20 lewd photos of two victims were discovered, Bell said

Bell said Dyke intended to meet up with the girl, but police stepped in before the meeting could take place.
