Watch for election madness

Next week, voters will punch their ballots for the midterm election. That means, as you're reading this, you've likely seen some pre-election madness.

Most will chalk these strange occurrences up to Halloween, but we at the newspaper know better.

That may involve someone removing a political sign or sending a campaign mailer with some particularly juicy tidbits or especially misleading claims. Hopefully, it's nothing like what happened this week in Kentucky, when a woman had her head stomped on by a supporter of U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul. That man faces assault charges.

Election night also always promises for a few surprises. Hopefully, we'll get the results in a timely manner so we can have meaningful stories at dailyherald.com and in print. Enjoy the Halloween weekend, and e-mail me at aselvam@dailyherald.com if you see any madness, election or otherwise.
