Strang donation will help Save-A-Pet

Seeing the joy Bogie, Drogo and Star has brought to the lives of his staff, David Strang owner of Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, located at 410 E. Belvidere Road in Grayslake, presented a $5,000 donation to Save-A-Pet Board Member Michelle Grimm in hopes his contribution will help the shelter to continue saving the lives of abandoned and abused animals.

“Our shelter is always in need of donations to survive and as with all our contributors, Mr. Strang's donation is very much appreciated,” Ms. Grimm said.

With facilities at 31664 North Fairfield Road in Grayslake, Save-A-Pet, a nonprofit, no-kill dog and cat adoption center, has cared for over 1,450 animals in 2009 and currently is responsive for over 500 animals due to abuse, neglect, loss and relinquishment.

“Everyone at Save-A-Pet is truly dedicated to finding loving, quality homes for each cat and dog in its care,” states Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium President Richard Gaddis. “I saw Bogie as a tiny puppy and just fell in love with him.”

The Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium extended family includes the Save-A-Pet adoption of Bogart “Bogie”, a mixed terrier, by Strang's President Richard Gaddis; Drogo, a beagle mix, adopted by General Manager Mark Willhite and visitation attendant Shirley Christian's adoption of Star, a border collie mix.

Celebrating life since 1898, Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium remains committed to providing the best service possible and in 1954, David Strang designed the state-of-the-art facility in the current location at 410 E. Belvidere Road.
