Barrington art festival coming May 28-29

The Barrington Art Festival will fill the Village Center, at Station and Cook streets, on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29.

Free and open to the public, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, the festival presents the work of 140 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, watercolors, wood and more.

The Barrington Art Festival is produced in partnership with the village of Barrington and the Barrington Cultural Commission.

Ÿ Watch masters at work with interactive art demos and booth chats.

Ÿ Stop by the youth art tent for fun art activities for kids including Paint-a-Wall and an art scavenger hunt.

Ÿ Peruse the works of young artists in the Youth Art Division of the festival, showcasing original works from artists ages 6 to 18.

There will be live music from Cirrus Falcon, David Young and Mark Adamczyk. Several restaurants will offer an eclectic menu:

Ÿ A Taste of Chicago Prime: Burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, wraps, salads, and select breakfast items.

Ÿ JJ’s Wood Grill: BBQ, steak sandwiches, giant smoked turkey legs and stuffed baked potatoes.

Ÿ Mediterranean Cuisine: Gyros, chicken divine, and a seafood platter.

Ÿ Palmetto Poppers: Kettle corn and flavored iced tea

Kaleidoscoops: Ice cream, snow cones, and root beer floats.

Ÿ Tropical Smoothies: Fresh fruit smoothies

Ÿ Fresh-squeezed lemon, lime, and orange shake ups.
